Outlook displays an error window, Ignore the error, and point to the new location. Switch to the Data Files window (as opened in Step 2) and double click on the PST file location.Ħ. Do NOT rename the file - if you do Outlook creates a new file in the default location again.ĥ. Select the Account name and check for the location of the PST file. ![]() Open Control Panel -> Choose Mails -> Click on Data files.ģ. Open Outlook - Configure youre-mail account. I believe they could do better but perhaps I am just optimistic. Apparently, they think the solution below is the best they can do. Microsoft is aware of this problem that many people face, yet they choose to not fix it. ![]() Although it seems very convoluted, the procedure below works - I have used it many times.
